The Manchester Heritage Archive

Manchester School Of Architecture - Year 3 (BArch)

As part of an urban regeneration scheme, The Manchester Heritage Archive rises as the central landmark of the Oxford Rd Station Square. The surroundings are redesigned to create a gathering space with improved landscaped green areas. The building is crafted to preserve The Salisbury Inn, an original construction from the 19th century. This gives a new life to the existing building and a tribute to the past is made, curating a space where people are educated about their ancestors, in order to improve their future. The observatory tower provides the scheme with a space to recognise the Mancunian cityscape and re-obtaining the admiration the city once had.
