User-Centered Design
PROJECTS
ABOUT
My name is Nestor Ruiz. I’m an entry-level UX/UI designer, recently graduated with a Masters degree in Architecture (distinction) from the Manchester School of Architecture. I grew up in the South of Spain, and at 18 I moved to the UK to study Architecture. In between my studies, I worked as an architectural assistant for leading firms based in London and Manchester.
Through this and my studies, I realised that my interest did not lie within architecture, but instead with design and user experience. For me, the most exciting projects involve collaborating with a passionate team, designing to communicate ideas and fit the needs of an audience efficiently, whilst creating a memorable experience. As a designer, I have always focused on the user as the cornerstone of any new concept, as well as keeping the balance between functionality and aesthetics.
Outside work, my two passions are music and food - influenced by my dad and mum, respectively, from a young age. I love taking my mind away off the daily grind by playing music - I am the guitarist in an alternative rock band but I can also play drums, bass guitar and piano. I spend a large part of my free time with friends or family - cooking typical Spanish food for them, organising trips or hosting parties.
