The brief of this project asked for the design of a temporary performance space in Wythenshawe Park (Manchester). I decided to work around a grid, which would determine the juxtaposition of the two main materials of the building - steel and concrete. The steel structure would allow for a temporary structure which would be removed after the events. On the other hand, the concrete elements are designed to remain as street furnishing after the lightweight structure is removed. The lightness and the privacy of the different interior spaces would be controlled using steel fins, while the glazing would determine if a space is considered interior or exterior.
